I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2017. I majored in Mathematics and minored in Middle Level Education and Language Arts. I have teaching credentials in both Michigan and Hawaii. Even though I have not been teaching long, I have experiences in many different kinds of schools around the world.
Before college, I worked as a math tutor in Detroit Public Schools and led an English and Language Arts intervention group. In college, I worked with an elementary student who needed more challenging work and was involved in many classrooms in the area in a variety of grade levels. I also had the opportunity to travel to Oaxaca, Mexico, and work in an English immersion program. These experiences have all contributed to my knowledge of working with students from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels.
I am currently a seventh grade Math and Language Arts teacher at Kapa'a Middle School where I am about to start my second year. At KMS I have focused on mainly math and have been responsible for on-level, honors, special education inclusion, and remedial classes. In addition, I do private tutoring for students varying levels and across the curriculum.
